This guide explains how to find, install, authorize, and start using XLGantt for Google Sheets.
XLGantt for Google Sheets is installed from the Google Workspace Marketplace and runs inside Google Sheets.
Before You Start
You need:
- A Google account
- Access to Google Sheets
- Permission to install Google Workspace Marketplace apps
If you use a work or school Google Workspace account, your administrator may restrict Marketplace app installation. If installation is blocked, please contact your Google Workspace administrator.
Install from Google Sheets
1. Open Google Sheets
Go to Google Sheets and open a new or existing spreadsheet.

2. Open the Add-ons Marketplace
From the Google Sheets menu, click:
Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons
This opens the Google Workspace Marketplace.
3. Search for XLGantt
In the Marketplace search box, search for:
XLGantt for Google Sheets
You may also search for:
XLGantt
XLGantt is pronounced “Excel Gantt.”
4. Select XLGantt for Google Sheets
Click the XLGantt for Google Sheets listing in the search results.
5. Click Install
Click the Install button.
Google may ask you to choose the Google account you want to use.
6. Review Permissions
Google shows the permissions requested by the add-on.
XLGantt for Google Sheets needs permission to:
- Work with the current Google Sheets document
- Show menus, dialogs, and sidebars in Google Sheets
- Save add-on settings
- Retrieve public holiday data from xlworks.net
XLGantt does not send your spreadsheet content or project data to an external server.
7. Click Allow
If you agree with the permissions, click Allow.
After installation is complete, click Done.
Start Using XLGantt
1. Refresh the Spreadsheet
After installation, refresh your spreadsheet or close and reopen it.
2. Open the XLGantt Menu
In Google Sheets, go to:
Extensions > XLGantt for Google Sheets
Depending on your Google Sheets interface, the menu may appear under:
Extensions > Add-ons > XLGantt for Google Sheets
3. Create a New Project Template
To start a new project, click:
Create New Project Template
XLGantt creates the basic sheets needed for project scheduling, including:
- Schedule
- Progress
- Calendar
- AnalysisReport
- Progress_Data
4. Set Your Language
The default language is English.
To change the language:
Extensions > XLGantt for Google Sheets > Options > Language
Supported languages:
- English
- Korean
5. Update the Schedule
After entering tasks, dates, resources, and progress values, click:
Extensions > XLGantt for Google Sheets > Update Schedule
The add-on calculates the schedule and updates the Gantt chart.
How to Uninstall
To uninstall XLGantt for Google Sheets:
1. Open Google Sheets
2. Click Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons
3. Find XLGantt for Google Sheets
4. Click Options
5. Click Uninstall
If you do not see the add-on after uninstalling, refresh the spreadsheet.
Troubleshooting
The XLGantt menu does not appear
Try the following:
- Refresh the spreadsheet
- Close and reopen the spreadsheet
- Confirm that the add-on was installed with the correct Google account
- Check Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons
- If you use a work or school account, ask your administrator whether Marketplace apps are allowed
Google asks for authorization
This is normal when you first use the add-on.
Click Allow if you agree with the requested permissions.
Installation is blocked
If you use a work or school Google Workspace account, your administrator may block Marketplace apps.
Please contact your Google Workspace administrator and ask whether XLGantt for Google Sheets can be allowed for your organization.
The add-on says a sheet is missing
If you are starting from a blank spreadsheet, use:
Create New Project Template
This creates the required sheets.
